Teaching Religious Education is truly the work of many. Nearly one hundred volunteers teach, coordinate a grade-level, assist, or substitute in our elementary religious education program. Some parents babysit for catechists’ children while the catechists teach the weekly lessons.
Specific, age-appropriate curricula that include two personal safety lessons are taught at each grade-level. Catechists are trained and supported throughout the year.
We recognize the National Catechetical Directory and its guidelines for Religious Education. It states that parents are the first and foremost educators of their child’s faith. We, as a church, strive to support and supplement the endeavors of parents in this effort.
Enrollment registration for classes is ongoing. Contact us to obtain a form to complete, & submit with a baptismal certificate. Each year in September students must be signed-up for a class day & time. Information on sign ups will be sent out to all registered families at the end of Aug.
Class schedule: Sunday through Wednesday at various times.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word takes place October through May, most Sundays during 10:00 AM Mass on two grade-levels in various places in the church. A child wishing to pariticipate or a parent who is curious is welcome to join us.
