Children have a right to hear God’s Word, and God wants them to hear it. We are all aware of the difficulty they have in understanding the Word since the scriptures were written in a language for adults.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word adapts scripture readings so that children may more easily understand the Word of God and, through that Word, be touched and blessed by this same Jesus who is ever present in His Word. Two leaders, each with their own assistant, proclaim the day’s readings and offer a reflection to the children while guiding them through the appropriate responses and prayer petitions during Liturgy of the Word. Everyone returns to the main assembly for Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Schedule: Most Sundays, October through May, at the 10 a.m. Mass
