Children have a right to hear God’s Word, and God wants them to hear it. We are all aware of the difficulty they have in understanding the Word since the scriptures were written in a language for adults.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word adapts scripture readings so that children may more easily understand the Word of God and, through that Word, be touched and blessed by this same Jesus who is ever present in His Word. Three leaders, each with their own assistant, offer the day’s readings and a reflection to children and guide them through the appropriate responses and prayer petitions during Liturgy of the Word. Everyone returns to the main assembly for Liturgy of the Eucharist.
